THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14 - BASEL
Meeting of participants in Trezzo dell'Adda and departure to Milan by shuttle service. Upon arrival, we meet the chaperone and the rest of the group and depart for the trip by motor coach. Stops for refreshments and free lunch are provided along the way. We reach Basel in time for an initial walk with the escort, and have dinner at the hotel.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15-FREIBURG-BASEL
We reach the young and hospitable Freiburg, the capital of the Black Forest, for a stroll through the market stalls in the old town, which at this time of year is decked out in Advent lights and decorations. We return to Basel, where there is a typical Christmas atmosphere, with the scent of sweets invading the air and the Rathaus illuminated by a huge tree. We spend a couple of hours on a guided tour through the alleys and squares of the old town, admiring the fountain with Tinguely's curious works, the 14th-century Cathedral with St. Gallen's Gate and the double cloister, and the colorful City Hall overlooking the Marktplatz. Dinner is free.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16 - STRASBOURG-COLMAR
We leave for Strasbourg, which for Advent is lit up with several dozen kilometers of wreaths and decorations. We enjoy the old town on foot, visiting with the guide the Notre Dame Cathedral and the old "Petite France" neighborhood with its half-timbered houses. An optional canal boat excursion is then available. After a free lunch we continue to Alsace, an area where the tradition of Christmas markets is very old, and stop in Colmar for a walking tour of its picturesque center, a mosaic of canals, alleys and old half-timbered houses adorned with frescoes, of the "Petite Venise" and "tanneurs" quarters, the tanners. Dinner awaits us in Basel.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17- LUCERNE-RETURN
On our way back to Italy we stop at Lake Lucerne in Lucerne for a free lunch and a walk with the tour guide. You can feel the Christmas atmosphere at every corner among the small squares, fountains and old buildings in the old town and along the famous Kapellbrucke, the covered wooden bridge. We arrive in Milan in the afternoon and continue to our hometown by shuttle service.
