Day 1 - Sunday, May 5, 2024
Meeting of participants at the airport ( for those who wish, possibility of coach from Inzago ) and meeting with Clio Viaggi escort. Departure from Milan Malpensa for Porto.
Meet the guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Rooms will be assigned after 2 p.m., possibility to leave luggage at the hotel.
First day dedicated to visiting the Riberira area, which is the one that extends over the river and will strike you with its colors and dynamism. The hotel is located right in this area. After discovering this part of the city, we will walk to the historic part where the Cathedral and Sao Bento Railway Station are located. We will continue past the street from Santa Caterina and Capela das Almas, the do Carmo church, the Livraria Lello: the Harry Potter bookstore, the Torre dos Clérigos, the Palácio da Bolsa, and finally the Church of St. Francis.
Lunch included.
Return to hotel and room assignment, dinner at outside restaurant including drinks.

Day 2 - Monday, May 6, 2024
Breakfast at hotel.
Meeting with the guide. The second day will be devoted to exploring the area across the river, Vila Nova da Gaia. We will sail the Douro River passing under the city's six bridges and then taste the famous fortified Port wine in the area's ancient wineries. Cross the Ponte de Dom Luís I to reach the town of Vila Nova de Gaia on the other side of the river. Here are the historic cellars of port, the world-famous fortified wine produced in the vineyards of the Douro Valley. The wine trade in Porto was introduced by the English beginning in the 14th century, thanks to the historic alliance between the Portuguese and British crowns, sanctioned by the marriage of Dom João I and Philippa of Lancaster. From their union was born in Porto Henrique the Navigator, initiator of Portuguese geographical exploration.

Return to hotel and room assignment, dinner at outside restaurant including drinks.

Day 3 - Tuesday, May 7, 2024
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Possibility of leaving luggage at the hotel.
Meet with the guide for a guided tour of the WOW, Museum of Wine. Interactivity is the key and wine is the treasure.
Afternoon free for shopping and individual activities.
Transfer to the airport in time for the return flight arriving in Milan.
