Jordan – The Kingdom of Time

Departure by GT coach to Milan Malpensa airport. Clear customs formalities and depart for Amman. Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman and meet with local assistant to pick up visa and transfer to hotel. Accommodation in the reserved rooms. Dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure in the direction of Madaba also known as the " city of mosaics," here in fact is kept the oldest mosaic in history, depicting the map to reach the Promised Land. Visit St. George's Church with its archaeological park. Next we will visit Mount Nebo, the place where Moses spent his last days of life and from which he was shown the Promised Land. There is a breathtaking view from the top of the mountain: on clear days it is even possible to catch a glimpse of Jerusalem. Lunch during the visit. Continue to Petra with a stop at Shoubak Castle, a 12th-century fortress built on top of an imposing rock 1300 meters above sea level. Here you will have an exclusive sharing experience drinking tea with local Bedouins who live in the Abu Ali Quarries near the fortress. In the evening arrival in Petra and accommodation in the reserved rooms. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day dedicated to visiting Petra, considered one of the seven wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The long-lost city of Petra, carved entirely by man into the pinkish-red sandstone rocks, challenges your imagination. It is a mystical and glorious place, an eternal tribute to a lost civilization. Petra was the central meeting point of the spice routes of the Nabataeans, who came from the Persian Gulf, Western Arabia, and the Red Sea. About two thousand years ago Petra became the capital of the Nabataean empire. The natural richness of the mountainous area combines superbly with the refined culture and massive architecture of the Nabataeans, who carved their theater, temples, facades, tombs, monasteries, and house streets entirely in the pinkish-red sandstone rocks. You will walk through the Canyon that leads to the famous " treasure " and then visit the entire rock city. Possibility, for those who wish, to reach the Monastery, to do so you will have to climb about 900 steps: the undertaking is arduous but worth the thought. Lunch on the hike. At the end of the visit transfer to the Wadi Rum desert, a place rich in history and magic, in time to watch the sunset. Accommodation in the reserved tents in the tented camp. Breakfast in the tented camp. Morning dedicated to visiting the Wadi Rum desert, also known as the " Red Desert " because of its very distinctive color. Here you will take a 4x4 tour of about 2 hours in which you will discover many secrets hidden in millennia of history. Afterwards depart for the Dead Sea, beach entrance and opportunity to enjoy the Dead Sea bathing activities. Despite its name, Dead Sea, it is actually a lake of very high salinity that lies in the earth's greatest depression, more than 410meters below sea level. It is a truly unique place: here you can experience the incredible sensation of floating at the water's edge, not to mention the very high combination of relaxing and healing properties.
