Stroll through the narrow streets of Krakow and feel the mystical atmosphere of the city; oreach corner reveals a different aspect of Krakow’s history, from ancient to modern times. Visit Poland’s religious center, one of the most important places of worship in the Christian world, Czestochowa. Visit the infamous Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps.

Itenirary
Day 1 Thursday, 10/24/2024: Italy - Krakow
Meeting of participants at Milan Malpensa airport, clearance of customs formalities and departure for Krakow.
Arrival and meeting with local guide and transfer to the historic city center for an orientation walking tour lasting about two hours.
Upon completion transfer to hotel and accommodation in reserved rooms.
Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2 Friday, 25/10/2024: Krakow and the Wieliczka Salt Mine
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit to the magical city of Krakow with an Italian-speaking guide (duration about 4 hours). We will visit the Old Town, surrounded by the Planty Green Belt, the park built in place of the defensive walls. We will start at the Market Square, the largest medieval square in Europe, whose shape has ' been preserved almost intact for 700 years. Among the buildings on the Square is St. Mary's Church with its famous Gothic polychrome wooden altarpiece.
Continue to Wawel Hill, with its imposing castle overlooking the Vistula River. We will visit the castle courtyard.
After the visit, lunch at one of the local restaurants in town. We will have our first taste of Polish cuisine and sample the famous Polish "Pierogi," thin pies with a variety of fillings.
Later we will stroll through the Kazimierz district, a small fragment of the old Jewish city.
The dramatic extermination of Jews in Krakow was the subject of Steven Spielberg's film "Schindler's List." The district was originally founded in the 14th century as a town separate from Kraków, with its own market square and town hall.
In the afternoon, excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, an impressive set of underground chambers, chapels and tunnels carved out of rock salt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mine has been in operation for nearly 700 years and reaches a depth of more than 300 meters.
Return to Krakow, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Saturday, 10/26/2024: Krakow - Czestochowa - Auschwitz and Birkenau
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, depart for Czestochowa, the religious center of Poland, one of the most important places of worship in the Christian world, with a tradition of pilgrimages dating back to the 14th.
Meet with local guide and visit the Shrine of Jasna Gòra. The tour includes the Basilica with the Chapel of the Black Madonna, the exhibition dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the Monastery, the Armory and the Treasury Room with precious gifts including the Golden Rose offered by John Paul II as an act of devotion to the heart of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
After the tour, lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, transfer to Auschwitz. Guided tour of the former concentration camp, built by the Nazis in 1940, which together with another camp built in 1942, Birkenau, became the place of extermination of 1.5 million people.
Return in the evening to Krakow. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 Sunday, 10/27/2024: Krakow - Italy
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure for individual activities and shopping.
Free lunch. In the afternoon, transfer in time for flight departure to Milan.
