Day 1 - 10 October 2025 - Bergamo

Upon arrival in Bergamo (with your own transportation), check-in at 4* Hotel Excelsior San Marco or a similar property, in a Double Room with Bed & Breakfast treatment. The hotel, strategically located between the Lower and Upper Towns, is the perfect starting point for exploring the city.

In the early afternoon, meet your local guide directly at the hotel and begin your private guided tour. You'll take the historic funicular up to the enchanting Città Alta, the medieval heart of Bergamo, where time seems to stand still.

You'll stroll through cobblestone alleys and ancient squares, visiting the main points of interest, including: Piazza Vecchia, the true "living room" of the city; the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, with its stunning Baroque interiors; the Colleoni Chapel, a masterpiece of Lombard Renaissance art; and the Venetian walls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering breathtaking views of the plains below. The tour will end with some free time to enjoy a coffee or aperitif at one of the many scenic cafés.

Return to the hotel at your leisure and enjoy the evening at your own pace for dinner (not included). A reservation at a typical local restaurant can be arranged upon request.
