Day 1 ITALY - BOGOTÀ
Departure by intercontinental scheduled flight to Bogota. Arrival, transfer and check into hotel. Overnight.
Day 2 BOGOTÀ
Breakfast. In the morning, depart for "La Concordia" market, where you can find all the traditional products of Colombian cuisine. Followed by a walking tour with a private guide of Candelaria, the historic center of the city, visiting the Plaza Bolivar, the Capilla del Sagrario, the Capitolio, the Palace of Justice and the Lievano building. Continue to visit the Botero Museum with the great artist's most famous works and the Museo de Oro, which houses the world's largest collection of gold artifacts from pre-Columbian times. At the end return to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.
Day 3 BOGOTÁ - ZIPAQUIRA - ARMENIA.
Breakfast. Transfer from Bogotá to Zipaquirá for a visit to the wonderful "Salt Cathedral," a stupendous work of art and engineering. The visit runs along a tunnel that retraces 14 Stations of the Cross until you reach the Dome from which you can see the Great Cross in bas-relief. You will see the High Altar and the marble Cross called "La Creacion del Hombre" 16 meters high. Transfer to the airport.Departure for Armenia. Arrival.Transfer to Armenia and accommodation in reserved room. Overnight.
Day 4 ARMENIA - COCORA VALLEY - ARMENIA.
Breakfast. Day dedicated to visiting the Cocora Valley in Los Nevados National Park known for its rich ecosystem. In the morning, depart for the Cocora Valley, located in the mountains of the Quindio region, which is part of the Nevados National Park and is a great place to see the "Quindio wax palms" (Ceroxylon quincense) - Colombia's national tree. This tree can reach a height of 60 meters. This area is home to a large number of bird species including hummingbirds and the yellow parrot as well as endangered specimens. Arrive at the top of the forest-covered valley to appreciate its biodiversity. On the return trip, cross the Quindio River; the ecological trail leads to the tall palm wax trees that local natives make a symbol of veneration. In the afternoon, continue to the traditional town of Salento. Visit Plaza de Bolivar with its colorful balconies, Calle Real, handicraft stores. Upon completion return to Armenia and overnight stay.
Day 5 ARMENIA
Breakfast. Half-day tour of a typical coffee "Hacienda." The tour shows guests the planting and cultivation process and then continues with selective manual harvesting and finally arrives at the roasting of the coffee beans. The tour offers the opportunity to admire the fabulous landscape on the plantations and the surrounding environment through special observation points. The tour then concludes with a coffee tasting and explanation of its characteristics through practical sensory activities, particularly with the sense of smell, thanks to which the quality and the very essence of coffee can be recognized. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight.
Day 6 ARMENIA - MEDELLIN
Breakfast. Land transfer to Medellin (approximately 7 hours). Three stops will be made en route: at Mirador de Pereira, Parador for lunch (not included) and Alto de Minas. Arrival in Medellín and transfer to hotel. Overnight.
Day 7 MEDELLIN
Breakfast. Depart the hotel for an exciting tour through the history and present of Medellín to learn more about the transformation of this fascinating metropolis. You visit the most important sites of the social transformation that has taken place in this city. It was considered among the most dangerous in the world until the 1990s when it was in the hands of Pablo Escobar, head of the Colombian drug trafficking cartel. Since the narco-trafficker's exit from the scene, Medellín has been at the center of a great renewal thanks to important projects that have fostered social transformation for the benefit of the citizenry. During the visit, 23 sculptures by Botero can be admired in a small plaza, and as one ascends the escalators in the Comuna 13 district, a splendid panorama can be seen. It is an exciting journey through past and present to learn more about the transformation of this fascinating metropolis. Art, graffiti and hip-hop have transformed one of the most dangerous areas of the 1990s into the city's main tourist landmark. Overnight.
Day 8 MEDELLIN
Breakfast. Day at leisure for optional excursions.
Day 9 MEDELLIN - CARTAGENA
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure by flight to Cartagena. Arrival. Transfer to the hotel and settle into the reserved room. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.
Day 10 CARTAGENA
Breakfast. Morning dedicated to sightseeing with a stop at San Felipe Castle in Barajas. We continue with a walking tour of the old city. It starts at Bolívar Park where the Palace of the Inquisition is located, continues with Santo Domingo Church and ends at the Walls and Fortifications of Cartagena. Continuation with the Street Food Tour. One of the best ways to get involved in the daily life and culture of the people is to experience the culture of food.
Please note: transportation is available for the fortress tour, the rest of the tour is on foot in the city center. Snacks and juice are included unless you want to buy extra.
Day 11 CARTAGENA
Breakfast. Free day. Overnight.
Day 12 CARTAGENA - BOGOTÀ.
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure by intercontinental scheduled flight. Meals and overnight stay on board.
