Day 1 ITALY - SANTIAGO
Depart from Italy by intercontinental scheduled flight to Santiago, via São Paulo, Brazil. Meals and overnight stay on board.
Day 2 ARRIVAL IN SANTIAGO DEL CHILE.
Transfer and accommodation at the hotel. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, walk through the historic center of the city with a visit to the Cathedral and the Government Palace "La Moneda" (admission not provided) and the pedestrian area of "paseo" Ahumada. Afterwards, visit the old part of the city, passing through the Bellavista and residential neighborhoods with elegant mansions, the commercial and financial heart of Santiago. Continue to the hill from where there will be a magnificent panoramic view of the city and the Andes Mountains. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 3 SANTIAGO - VALPARAISO - SANTIAGO.
Breakfast. Morning departure to the coast, driving through the famous Casablanca Valley, known for its vineyards. Arrival in the picturesque town of Valparaíso. The town, founded in the 16th century and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003, offers unique and fascinating architecture: it is situated next to several hills, accessed through narrow streets, long staircases and various elevators built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Visit of "La Sebastiana" one of the houses of the writer Pablo Neruda. Return to Santiago in the afternoon. Overnight.
Day 4 SANTIAGO - CALAMA - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA.
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure by flight to Calama. Arrival. Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama and check into the hotel. Afternoon visit to the Cordillera del Sale and the Valley of the Moon, from where you will enjoy a wonderful sunset over the Atacama Desert. Overnight.
Day 5 SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - GEYSER DEL TATIO - SALAR DE ATACAMA - SAN PEDRO ATACAMA.
Breakfast. Depart very early in the morning for the Tatio Geysers; here the sunrise offers an exceptional spectacle, fumaroles at their highest boiling point reaching 6 meters in height, and the experience is enhanced by guided walks among hot mud craters and small geysers and culminates with a breakfast in the middle of the largest group of geysers in the southern hemisphere. On the way back, viista of the Machuca bofedal, where you can observe typical local fauna such as flamingos, vicunas and llamas. Return to San Pedro de Atacama.
In the afternoon, excursion to Salar de Atacama, the largest salt deposit in Chile, and stop at Laguna Chaxa to admire the colonies of pink flamingos that live in this place of rare beauty. Continue with a visit to the village of Toconao, a small colonial "pueblo" built entirely of "liparite." Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and overnight stay.
Day 6 SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - SANTIAGO
Breakfast. Free time before transfer to Calama airport. Departure by flight to Santiago, Chile. Arrival. Overnight stay in hotel near the airport.
Day 7 SANTIAGO - EASTER ISLAND.
Breakfast. Departure for Easter Island. Arrival. Transfer and accommodation at the hotel. Easter Island, the world's most remote island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean between the South American continent and Polynesia, is best known for the mysterious Moai statues scattered on its shores. Spectacular and fascinating are its views and particularly interesting, the history, archaeology, culture and traditions of the ancient inhabitants. In the afternoon, visit the archaeological sites of Ahu Akivi, Ana Te Pahu and Puna Pau. Visit the platform with 7 moai, built in honor of Rapa Nui's early explorers, and the pukao quarry, Puna Pau, famous for its red slag headdresses and panoramic views of Hanga Roa village. You also explore the Ana Te Pahu cave, a lava tube used as a dwelling by ancient Rapa Nui, where you can see archaeological remains. The trail gives you an understanding of the ancient islanders' connection to the Universe, highlighting the importance of astronomy in the arrangement of moai and platforms. The sites visited reflect the last period of moai construction and their cultural significance. Overnight.
Day 8 EASTER ISLAND.
Breakfast. This tour begins at Ahu Akahanga, an archaeological site with the remains of platforms where, according to tradition, the island's first king was buried. Next, you visit the Rano Raraku volcano, known as the moai quarry, where you can see nearly 400 statues in various stages of workmanship. The next stop is Ahu Tongariki, the platform with the largest number of restored moai on the island. After a lunch break, we continue on to Te Pito Kura, home to the magnetic rock and the Paro moai, the largest moai ever transferred from the quarry. The tour ends at Hanga Rau or Te Ariki, with the Ahu Nau-Nau in front of Anakena Beach. Possibility to enjoy the sea in this beautiful bay. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 9 EASTER ISLAND.
Breakfast. Morning dedicated to visiting archaeological sites, such as Orongo, Rano Kau and Vinapu. Opportunity to explore the ceremonial cult village at Make-Make and Tangata Manu, the island's largest crater and a platform with carved rocks and moai remains. Also, guided tour to important ceremonial centers, rock paintings and the ancient village of Orongo. The tour introduces you to Rapa Nui mythology and the story of the Tangata Manu competition, where the winner of the challenge becomes the political and military leader of the island for a year.
Day 10 EASTER ISLAND - SANTIAGO
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure for Santiago de Chile. Arrival. Transfer to hotel. Overnight.
Day 11 SANTIAGO - ITALY
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and departure on an intercontinental scheduled flight to Italy. Meals and overnight stay on board.
Day 12 ARRIVAL IN ITALY
End of the journey.
