DAY 1: VERONA - TRENTO - WINE ROAD - CALDARO - BOLZANO
Meet with chaperone in Verona and depart for Trentino Alto Adige. The first stop is Trento, the capital of the Autonomous Province of Trento. During the guided tour you will see the Cathedral of San Vigilio with the Neptune Fountain, the Buonconsiglio Castle (exterior), the Civic Tower and the Praetorian Palace. Free lunch and continuation of the journey along the Wine Route, 42 kilometers of pure nature, among small villages, expanses of vineyards and wineries. Wine culture in South Tyrol is one of the oldest in Europe: starting in the 18th century, several Bavarian monasteries bought some wine estates in the area and started this activity, which developed further during the period of Austro-Hungarian rule. DAY 2: BOLZANO - MERANO - LAKE RESIA - BOLZANO
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, depart for Merano, a renowned spa town in South Tyrol. Visit the Mitteleuropean-looking city center and the beautiful Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle with botanical varieties from around the world. In 1870, Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria underwent spa treatments in Merano, staying in this castle. This visit made Merano famous as a health resort and spa town. Visit the castle gardens, beautiful botanical garden. Free lunch. In the afternoon, continue to Resia Lake, the largest artificial lake in the Alps. In 1950, 150 families in Couron were forced to leave their homes due to the construction of a large dam. Today, the bell tower of Couron Church emerging from the water has become the symbol of the Vinschgau Valley. Return to Bolzano. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: BOLZANO AND BRESSANONE
Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Bolzano, capital of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and one of the cities in Italy with the best quality of life. The tour takes us to the central Walther Square for a visit to the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, Herbs Square, the Dominican Church, one of the city's earliest Gothic buildings. Entrance to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology where the Ötzi mummy, the oldest natural mummy ever found, dating back to the Copper Age, discovered in 1991 among the glaciers of the Schnalstal Valley, is kept. Free lunch. In the afternoon we reach Brixen for a locally guided walk to the city center. Brixen is the oldest city in South Tyrol, which, over the centuries, has been under ecclesiastical rule by the prince-bishops of Brixen, whose principal residence it was. Time at leisure with its picturesque alleys and old town full of life. Return to Bolzano. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4: GRAND TOUR OF THE DOLOMITES: VAL GARDENA, VAL DI FASSA AND LAKE CAREZZA
Breakfast at the hotel. Day entirely dedicated to discovering the most beautiful dolomite scenery thanks to a dolomite circuit tour. Depart for Val Gardena to Ortisei, which lies beautifully situated in a basin of pastures and forests with views of the Sassolungo and Sella. Walk through downtown with 'chaperone. Continuation to Selva di Val Gardena. Ascent to the Sella Pass (mt. 2213) where you can admire the view of the Sella massif, the most imposing in the Dolomites. Continuation to the Pordoi Pass. Stop for free lunch. Possibility ( optional and in supplement) of ascent by cable car to Sass Pordoi (mt. 2950). In the afternoon, descent to Val di Fassa with a stop in Canazei, the most important town in the valley. At sunset chance to admire the phenomenon of Enrosadira, the pink coloring of the mountains. Finally, stop at Lake Carezza, in whose waters the majestic profile of the Latemar is reflected. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 5: BOLZANO - CASTEL THUN - ROVERETO - VERONA
Breakfast and departure in the direction of Vigo di Ton for a visit to Castel Thun, one of the most impressive castles in Trentino, in the picturesque setting of Val di Non. For centuries it was the residence of the noble and powerful Thun family. Inside, the rooms preserve the original 16th-century furnishings, a rich picture gallery and an important library. Visit with audioguide. Continuation to Rovereto, free lunch and guided walk through the beautiful city center. Time at leisure. Depart for the return journey in the direction of Verona. In the evening return to the starting location.
