Overview

A trip to Germany during the Advent season to experience magical emotions as cities dress up and come alive with Christmas markets. We will visit Freiburg, located on the southern border of the Black Forest and with a sunny and welcoming atmosphere, it will be completely decked out in colorful lights. We will continue our trip to the Black Forest to discover its jewels hidden in the dense evergreen forests typical of the area.

DECEMBER 16 - FRIBOURG
Early morning departure from the chosen location. Free lunch along the way. Arrival in Freiburg. On the southern edge of the Black Forest, Freiburg is a university town with a sunny and welcoming atmosphere. The old town, with its cobblestone streets lined with Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings, is imbued with an almost fairy-tale air. Münsterplatz is the cobblestone square that opens in front of Freiburg im Breisgau Cathedral. It houses numerous colorful buildings, many of which were rebuilt after World War II. Time at leisure to visit the markets set up at Rathausplatz and Franziskanergasse. The quaint little wooden houses display high-quality crafts such as blown glass, silver or enameled jewelry, Christmas decorations, candles, wooden toys, straw shoes from the nearby Black Forest, and antiques. Continuation to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DEC. 17 - THE BLACK FOREST
Breakfast. In the morning, with the guide, sightseeing bus tour of the villages of the Black Forest a mountainous region in southwest Germany, bordering France. Renowned for its dense evergreen forests and picturesque villages, it is often associated with the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Stop in Triberg, in the heart of the Black Forest, known for Germany's highest waterfalls and the manufacture of cuckoo clocks; Schonach to admire the world's largest cuckoo clock (admission included); and finally Gengenbach, one of the Black Forest's medieval jewels, a dreamy village with its walls, gates and great medieval towers, a labyrinth of cobbled streets filled with colorful wooden houses. In the main square is the Town Hall Building, which has a very special feature. Its facade consists of an advent calendar, the largest in the world. The 24 windows are opened one at a time, one for each day before Christmas, to remind everyone that Christmas Eve is approaching. Free lunch. Early afternoon return journey with arrival expected in the evening.
